The LabVet Europe programme is accredited by The Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations (FELASA) ensuring a high quality programme that meets the international standards for training of Designated Veterinarians, stipulated in the European Union Directive 2010/63/EU.
FELASA represents common interests in all aspects of laboratory animal science in Europe and beyond. The Association advocates for responsible scientific conduct with animals in the life sciences with particular emphasis on ensuring animal welfare. FELASA primarily works through publishing of guidelines, recommendations and policy documents on topics relevant for laboratory animal science.
FELASA established the accreditation system for teaching programmes for all categories of personnel involved in the care and use of laboratory animals. This quality assurance system is intended to assist in the development of high quality educational programmes in laboratory animal science throughout Europe and internationally.
